How LAWSGROUP Leveraged RFID in Its Manufacturing Operations Two years ago, LAWSGROUP, one of the largest apparel manufacturers in Hong Kong that supplies clothes for major specialty stores, such as the Gap, JCPenney and American Eagle Outfitters, introduced a short-range RFID solution in its manufacturing operations. The system tracks work-in-process from fabric cutting and sewing to quality control and shipment. This enables the company's production planning team to make real-time decisions regarding each order lot, which is critical in an industry with extremely short product life-cycles. In this session, you will learn how LAWSGROUP deployed its RFID Production Monitoring System, the efficiencies that have been achieved in material procurement, logistics and other operations, additional benefits achieved through backend integration with ERP and human resources applications, and the possibilities for integrating the system with those of key customers.
Speaker:
| | Bosco Law, Corporate Development Director, LAWSGROUP |
Takeaways:
 | An understanding of how RFID can be used to track work-in-process from fabric cutting to quality control and shipment | | Insights into the productivity improvements that RFID can deliver to apparel manufacturers |

International Case Study: Kaufhof and Lemmi Fashion
German retailer Kaufhof Warenhaus has been using RFID to track clothes in pilots for nearly two years, allowing the company to decrease its content-scanning procedure by a factor of 22. Lemmi Fashion, a German children's-wear manufacturer, began tagging 100% of its products in 2004, enabling the company to increase its productivity and greatly reduce costs within one year of deployement. This session will highlight how international apparel and footwear retailers are moving forward with deploying RFID in the supply chain, and in stores.
Speakers:
| | Uwe Quiede, Logistik—Future Store Initiative, Kaufhof Warenhaus AG |
Takeaways:
 | An understanding of RFID's benefits in the retail/apparel supply chain | | Insights into the cost of deploying an RFID system for apparel |
|

Achieving Benefits from RFID Today
Where are the real benefits of using RFID today in apparel and footwear? Do retailers get the savings while suppliers pick up the cost of tagging individual items? When will the cost of tags fall to a point where all apparel items can be tagged profitably? Can privacy and other issues be overcome, or will they inhibit adoption? Our panel of experts will address these questions and many more during this interactive session with the audience.
