Kloeckner Metals and Reading Hospital are among the organizations that will present case studies at this year's LIVE! conference.

RFID Journal announced today that it has added four new case studies to the conference agenda of RFID Journal LIVE! 2022, which will take place at Las Vegas's Mandalay Bay Convention Center on May 17-19. The organizations presenting are the Avon and Somerset Police Force, Kloeckner Metals, Reading Hospital and the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Museum.

"We are extremely excited that these organizations have agreed to talk about their RFID journey and how they deployed solutions that delivered real benefits," says Mark Roberti, RFID Journal's founder and editor. "Our attendees will learn from hearing how organizations like theirs are using RFID successfully."

Jonathan Toler, the head of product and innovation at Kloeckner Metals, one of the largest metals manufacturing, supply and service companies in North America, will provide a session in the Manufacturing track titled Increasing Visibility and Production with RFID. Toler will explain how the company is employing RFID to reduce the amount of time required to locate metals at facilities, as well as to increase production.

Alan Portnoy, the pharmacy operations manager at Reading Hospital, will speak in the Healthcare/Pharmaceuticals track. His session, Reading Hospital Manages Vaccine Administration with RFID, will explain how the hospital is capturing the status of the COVID-19 vaccines it stores and injects into patients' arms, leveraging its use of an existing UHF RFID solution.

In a session in the Innovation track, Opening During a Pandemic: USOPM Leverages RFID to Personalize Content and Enable Pandemic-Era Safety, Robert Bready, the VP of museum operations for the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Museum, will explain how his organization uses an RFID system initially designed to personalize the visitor experience to set the occupancy levels and alert the staff if a gallery is approaching its maximum number of guests allowed. The system also provides the opportunity for contact tracing.

Finally, Sgt. Stuart King of the Avon and Somerset Police Force will present a session in the Emerging Technologies track titled UK Police-issued NFC Devices Help Safeguard People Living with Dementia. King will explain how the police force's Dementia Safeguarding Scheme (Herbert Protocol) uses NFC-enabled wristbands and GPS pendants to locate lost patients and alert their loved ones.

RFID Journal LIVE! 2022 will feature more than 90 educational sessions in eight industry-specific and nine technical and how-to conference tracks, plus RFID Professional Institute certification training, the co-located IEEE RFID 2022 event and the RFID Journal Awards. What's more, the event will offer exhibits and demonstrations conducted by the industry's leading technology firms. For more information, visit rfidjournallive.com.
