Matthew Hussey's role in ALEC, the nation's largest non-partisan individual membership organization of state legislators, includes working with state legislators and the private sector to educate members on telecom, IT and high-tech issues, facilitate discussions and development of policies, and assist in the drafting of model legislation. Before joining ALEC, Mr. Hussey worked for more than 8 years in the telecommunications industry, most recently for Verizon Communications. There, he occupied positions in engineering, business development, sales & marketing and finance. Prior to that, Mr. Hussey worked several years in the cable industry, where he held product-development and engineering roles. He holds a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, a Certificate in economics from Georgia Tech and an MBA from the University of Maryland.
