Registration Open For RFID Journal LIVE! 2008

RFID Journal has announced that attendees can register online or by phone for its sixth annual conference and exhibition, being held April 16-18 at the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas.

RFID Journal announced today that registration is now open for RFID Journal LIVE! 2008, its sixth annual conference and exhibition, being held April 16-18 at the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas. RFID Journal LIVE! is the world's largest RFID event, with more than 2,500 attendees in 2007.

To kick off the upcoming event, RFID Journal is running a limited-time promotion to give away prizes. Subscribers were sent postcards by mail containing details of the promotion. Those who did not receive such a postcard can participate by visiting www.rfidjournalevents.com/live/postcard.php and filling out their contact information at the bottom of the page to request an electronic postcard with a unique code for a chance to win. "We're very excited about the 2008 event, which promises to be bigger and better than even this year's landmark event," says Mark Roberti, founder and editor of RFID Journal.

RFID Journal LIVE! 2008 will feature eight educational tracks customized for those with different levels of knowledge of RFID—from beginner to experienced implementer—and targeted to those interested in understanding how RFID can deliver benefits in the aerospace/defense, manufacturing, retail/consumer products, pharmaceutical and transportation/logistics industries.

The event will also feature 10 preconference seminars addressing the educational needs of specific groups interested in RFID:

More than 200 leading technology providers will put on displays in the event's 100,000-square-foot exhibit hall, which will showcase live demonstration centers. In addition, technology companies will be able to compete for the Best in Show award, conferred to the best new product or service as determined by attendees. Two collocated events will take place in tandem with RFID Journal LIVE! 2008. EPCglobal will conduct a Joint Action Group meeting prior to the event, and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers will hold its IEEE RFID 2008 conference in conjunction with the conference.

The EPCglobal gathering will include members from all action groups contributing to the development of EPCglobal standards. A portion of the meeting will be open for nonmembers looking to learn more about the benefits of becoming an EPCglobal subscriber.

The IEEE symposium is the second in a series of annual conferences dedicated to addressing the technical and policy challenges involving RFID technologies, as well as their supporting large-scale distributed information systems and applications.
