 Abbott Weiss designs and executes powerful business solutions integrating global transportation, logistics, order fulfillment, manufacturing, customer services, planning and materials systems. A consultant and a lecturer at MIT, Weiss’ recent work concentrates on implementation of supply chain systems, including RFID. Previously, Weiss led a professional services business for i2 Technologies, a provider of advanced supply chain software; served in senior management positions at Digital Equipment Corporation; and co-founded Logistics Systems. Weiss holds a Ph.D. from Harvard Business School and an M.S. in management from MIT. He completed undergraduate work in naval architecture and marine engineering at Webb Institute. |

Ruchir Nanda has over eight years of experience in the manufacturing and consumer industries and in assessing and measuring supply chain performance. Since joining Deloitte Consulting, Nanda has performed RFID strategy and implementation projects for several clients in these industries and has authored and contributed to several RFID articles and white papers.
Edward Schneider is the founding general partner and a director of Quan Ventures, an active investor in the RFID sector. Schneider has implemented a top-down strategy of investing in emerging hardware IT niches. Prior to founding Quan, he managed equity mutual funds and an external venture capital portfolio at Lloyds TSB Bank and was an entrepreneurial founder of a Geneva-based technology start up. He holds an M.I.M. from the American Graduate School of International Management and a B.A. from Emory University.
Chuck Nardi is the information officer of commercial systems for Purdue Pharma, a leading pain management pharmaceutical manufacturer and recently led the company’s RFID initiative to meet the Wal-Mart C2 mandate at item level. Previously, Nardi served as Purdue’s director of ERP and finance systems, managing SAP implementation. Prior to that, he was responsible for supply chain management, sales and operations planning, and financial analysis at Crompton Corporation, and also led Crompton’s business transformation SAP ERP initiative in Europe. Nardi chairs the pharmaceutical and life science SAP user group and is a member of EPCglobal’s health care business action group.
Reik Read is Baird’s senior analyst covering supply chain technology and EMS and electronics. Prior to joining Baird, Reik was an analyst with B.C. Ziegler and a management consultant with Ernst & Young. Read received a B.S. in economics and an M.B.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Marc Osofsky is vice president of marketing and product management at OATSystems. Prior to joining OAT, Osofsky served as the vice president of marketing, product management and business development at Frictionless Commerce, where he led a team that created the first enterprise software solution for strategic sourcing. For his work at Frictionless, Osofsky was recognized as a "Pro to Know" by Demand & Supply Chain Executive Magazine. Earlier, he was a consultant at both McKinsey and Accenture. Osofsky holds an M.B.A. from the Sloan School of Management at MIT and a B.A. from Brown University.
Mike O'Shea has been with Kimberly-Clark for 25 years and is currently the company's director of corporate auto identification and RFID technologies. O'Shea leads K-C's global RFID efforts, including pilots and implementations to prepare for global deployment of RFID into the company's business processes. He serves as industry co-chair of EPCglobal's fast moving consumer packaged goods action group, helping to define the end user requirements in the CPG value chain and also sits on the EPCglobal business steering committee. Previously, O'Shea represented K-C on the Auto-ID Center at MIT's board of directors.
Thomas Pounds is responsible for Alien's strategic relationships with technology and product partners, product marketing and the company's engagement with EPCglobal. Pounds also coordinates the company's corporate strategy. Prior to joining Alien, Pounds was CEO of Wave ID, a developer of radio frequency tag systems for government, military and commercial applications. Previously, he was the vice president of strategy and planning at Battelle, and a manager and consultant with the Boston Consulting Group. He holds a M.S. in management from the MIT Sloan School and a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from Princeton University.
Michael Petersen is a co-founder of Information Mediary Corporation. As the company’s chief operating officer, Peterson has driven a mix of technologies toward unique solutions in the field of RFID-enabled intelligent packaging for pharmaceutical, security and coldchain applications. Previously, Petersen started, and later sold, iSCAN Intelligent Scanning, a company that provided organizations the opportunity to migrate paper-based document archives and texts to electronic platforms.
Kenneth Porad is responsible for overall program management for bar coding and the marking of parts within Boeing's commercial airplanes group. He is the Boeing engineering representative to the Air Transport Association's task force which developed the industry standard bar code format. Porad's currently focus is establishing an aviation industry standard for radio frequency identification of parts and the certification of their safe use on commercial airplanes. Porad joined Boeing in April 1980, and has held positions within engineering and management in both the aircraft and missile systems and commercial airplanes business units. He holds a B.S. from Southern Illinois University and an M.S. degree from the University of Southern California.
Jason Sellman is an analyst with the U.S. Social Security Administration, and he has automated and streamlined many workflows improving the efficiency of inventory and warehouse operations. Most recently, Sellman has applied this experience to the implementation of the agency’s radio frequency identification projects.
Bob Pernice is director of RFID at Nashua Corporation, a manufacturer and converter of labels, specialty papers and imaging products. Prior to his current activities, Pernice directed the commercialization of the company's technology for the additive manufacture of flexible printed circuits. Previously, Pernice was director of sales and marketing for Metalor Technologies, a manufacturer of microelectronic packaging materials in Switzerland. He also worked in the electronic assembly division of Cookson Corporation
