About the Mike Sullivan Memorial Scholarship
 |
In 2005, in memory of their beloved friend and RFID visionary, Mike Sullivan, several executives at Gillette partnered with Boston Scholars to create the Mike Sullivan Memorial Scholarship Fund. Starting with the inaugural tournament in September 2005, they raised $20,000, which will be used to fund several Mike Sullivan Scholars through the Boston Scholars Program. Last year's success was largely due to the strong individual and corporate support from leaders in the RFID industry, which shows Mike's lasting personal and professional impact and influence. By partnering with RFID Journal to open the RFID Journal LIVE! 2006 Conference & Exhibition with this year's golf tournament, Mike's friends hope to move closer to their goal of creating an everlasting endowment in his honor. About the Boston Scholars Program
The mission of the Boston Scholars Program is to open doors for disadvantaged youths through educational opportunities. We achieve our mission by granting scholarships to meritorious Boston-area students who have demonstrated a pressing financial need, and by pairing these "Boston Scholars" with mentors from the Boston professional community who share similar academic and professional interests. The Boston Scholars Program opens the door to new educational opportunities and provides the positive influences necessary to guide our scholars through the challenges of high school, with the help they need to uncover a world of opportunities they never thought possible.
RFID Journal LIVE! 2007 is produced by RFID Journal, the World's RFID Authority.
