Description: Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort is themed to represent Mexico and the Southwestern United States. The resort story includes the imaginary discovery of a lost kingdom during a modern day archeological dig.
- Guest rooms are divided into three themed areas around a 15-acre crafted lake.
- The Casitas (Little Houses), connected to El Centro and the Convention Center, represent the urban areas of the Southwestern United States and Mexico.
- Three- and four-stories tall, the Casitas are highlighted with colorful plazas, fountains, and palm-shaded courtyards.
- The Ranchos represent the more arid regions of the Southwestern United States where the architecture and landscape reflect the "country-ranch" parts of the region, with a small stream or "arroyo" tumbling over a rocky stream bed.
- The Cabanas area depicts the coastal regions of Mexico. Two-story buildings surround a beach adjacent to the central lake, Lago Dorado (Lake of Gold).
- Over half the guest rooms in the Cabana buildings have views of the water.
