It's not all work at RFID Journal LIVE! —
Have fun, and you might win a flat-screen TV

At RFID Journal LIVE! 2006, more than 1,000 attendees played the world's first RFID-enabled arcade games. Each player took home a one-of-a-kind RFID Journal LIVE! hat and was entered into a lucky drawing. Two Grand Prize Winners even took home a free flat-screen plasma television from Hewlett-Packard! In 2007, we will add more games, more prizes and more fun! Stay tuned for details.

2006 RFID@Play Arcade Games:

For RFID Journal LIVE! 2006, RFID Journal developed the world's first RFID-enabled arcade games with the help of Rush Tracking Systems, which integrated UHF tags and readers from Symbol Technologies and middleware from BEA Systems.

The RFID@Play Golf Game invited attendees to try to putt five balls into three holes of different sizes. An RFID tag in each ball was associated with the tag in the attendee's badge. The player received one point for making a putt in the largest hole, three for the medium-sized hole and five for the smallest hole.

For the RFID@Play Football Game, attendees were challenged to throw five sponge footballs into one of three different–sized holes. As with the golf game, an RFID tag in the ball was associated with the tag in the player's badge, and the attendee received one point for making a pass through the largest hole, three for the medium-sized hole and five for the smallest hole.

We've got several new games up our sleave for 2007–and more great prizes. So come to the one RFID event where you get everything you need to put RFID to work—and get a chance to have a little fun and win some prizes.
