RFID Journal LIVE! 2024: Training & Certification

A full day of training and certification will be offered at RFID Journal Live! 2024. Among the subjects to be discussed are RFID Technology Review, RFID Physics and How Algorithms, AI/ ML can be used for Locating & Positioning + Related Technologies to RFID.

The sessions will take place on April 9 in Room 363 with Archit Dua, Project Manager, RFID4U and Sanjiv Dua, CEO, RFID4U leading the sessions.

Below is the schedule for Training & Certification sessions:

RFID Course and RFID Professional Institute Certification Exam Review

Time: 7:50-9:30 a.m.

Session Description: In this section, attendees will review the agenda for the day including important reminders regarding the RFID Professional Institute Certification Exam.RFID Journal Live

RFID Technology Review

Time: 9:30-10:15 a.m.

Session Description: We’ll also cover the different types of RFID readers, reader performance characteristics, how to configure various readers. The different types of RFID antennas will be explained and participants will learn about antenna read zones and the characteristics of different types of RF antennas. The instructor will also cover the various peripherals used in RFID systems, including RFID label printers and encoders, motion sensors, electric eyes and other feedback devices. As a benchmark, a summary as well as comparison between RFID and Barcode technologies will also be covered.

RFID Physics

Time: 10:15-10:30 a.m.

Session Description: We’ll also cover the different types of RFID readers, reader performance characteristics, how to configure various readers. Protocols and Middleware (Integrating RFID Data to Backend Systems)

Time: 11:15 a.m.-12:00 p.m.

Session Description: This section will cover various protocols including Air Interface Protocols, Tag Data Protocols as well as Reader Protocols. We’ll take a deep dive into the UHF Class 1 Gen 2 standard as well as conduct a hands-on lab that will emphasize the air interface’s memory layout.

RFID Design, Evaluate & Select, Deployment, Testing & Troubleshooting (Part 1)

Time: 12:00-12:30 p.m.

Session Description: As with any technology, it’s important understand the lifecycle of an implementation. In this section, we’ll start with the design process for an RFID installation including the concept of a site survey. Following, we’ll cover criteria to evaluate and select various components of a solution. Next, we’ll discuss the deployment process and then how to test and troubleshoot after the installation. We’ll also conduct a hands-on activity going through optimization after the installation.

Time: 1:30-2:15 p.m.

Regulations and Standards

Time: 2:15-2:30 p.m.

Session Description: During this section, attendees will review the different types of standards that exist in the RFID ecosystem. In addition, we’ll go through various ISO standards and review NFC and related standards. We’ll also cover regulations and mandate in RFID.

How Algorithms, AI/ ML can be used for Locating & Positioning + Related Technologies to RFID

Time: 3:00-3:30 p.m.

Session Description: In this section, we’ll cover locating and positioning system and technologies while reviewing technologies that are related to RFID.

RFID Providers & Analytics

Time: 3:30-4:00 p.m.

Session Description: Manufacturers, Integrators, Software Suppliers and more! We’ll cover the different hats that companies and providers play in the RFID world.

Review and Wrap Up

Time: 4:00-4:30 p.m.

Keynote Speakers
