Minneapolis, MN, March 7, 2008, Seeonic Inc. is announcing today its second generation product line for delivering real-time information to assist manufacturers and retailers with managing in-store inventory through their integrated SightWare™ and SmartWatch™ platform. Seeonic’s product announcement includes SightWare™ a low cost, flexible and recyclable RFID enabled sensing module and SmartWatch™ a fully integrated suite of business analytics, demand management and inventory status alerting tools. Together they offer manufacturers and retailers the ability to realize increased revenues by reducing stock-outs and overstocks at the store level.
The Seeonic SightWare™ electronic module automatically gathers inventory data from within a retail promotional display or permanent fixture. The module communicates the data through a real-time wireless interface to SmartWatch™ for analysis and reporting. Once the data is collected, SmartWatch™ provides a secure and web-accessible set of software tools and business intelligence algorithms. Predictive analytic algorithms can then be applied to model the optimum replenishment action resulting in increased return on inventory at the store display level. The SmartWatch™ timely business intelligencecapability optimizes store-level-inventory replenishment as it tracks on-display products with item-level accuracy and real-time visibility.
Tomorrow’s Mother, a leading retailer of maternity wear and a Seeonic customer, is seeking access to real-time data about its inventory at all the stores in which it leases space. "With RFID technology," says Al Dittrich, CEO and president of Tomorrow's Mother, "we could get on-hand information from anywhere in North America without integrating into the department stores' systems."
“Our smart shelf systems will benefit manufacturers by ensuring retailers are honoring their premium display obligations for item-level placement as well as benefitting the retailers by giving them visibility into detailed consumer demand driven data,” said Harley Feldman, President and CTO of Seeonic. “By employing our SightWare™ and SmartWatch™ platform we can now provide retailers and CPG manufacturers with a substantially improved view of their promotions marketing effectiveness and category management execution.”
The Seeonic SmartWatch and SightWare™ service is both economical and flexible requiring no capital investment and no in-store IT infrastructure support. Our intelligent-data service is provided as Software as a Service on a monthly subscription basis.
Seeonic will be on display in booth #761 at RFID Journal Live! 2008
