RFID in Logistic Applications
Researchers at the LogDynamics Lab and University of Bremen in Germany have been researching RFID's value in logistics operations.  In this session, the head of that effort discusses the results of tests done with RFID in beverage, automotive and cold chain logistics. He will discuss how to choose the right tag and the right standards and which applications of RFID deliver value on logistics.

Lexar Media Leverages RFID to Gain Distribution Visibility, Flexibility and Control
Lexar Media, a marketer and manufacturer of NAND flash and DRAM memory products, deployed RFID to achieve quick compliance with RFID mandates without sacrificing control and flexibility across its entire distribution operations, affording it improved visibility and control of its DC operations. RFID has allowed the company to improve productivity, reduce shipment errors, decrease costs, increase quality and improve product sales. Lexar now benefits from RFID-enabled distribution capabilities across its entire operations. RFID data helps its sales staff strategize the movement of product throughout customer locations, while electronic proof-of-delivery (POD) is helping the finance department reduce non-compliance shipments.
