PervasID Releases New RFID Reader to Pinpoint Locations
Apr 18, 2024UK-based RFID technology company PervasID has launched its latest product aimed at boosting location accuracy, known as TrackMaster 2X.
This latest reader offers two meters location accuracy and covers an area up to 240 square meters (2,600 square feet and includes new antenna architecture that reduces equipment and installation costs, ensuring a return on investment of under 12 months, according to PervasID’s founder and president Sabesan Sithamparanathan. Competing products require several readers to cover the same area.
That read accuracy and distance can be maintained even in densely packed warehouses or stores. The resulting read data (with more than 99 percent accuracy) can be accessed within minutes through integration with a retailers API.
The Trackmaster 2X is being facilitated through the RFID solution provider SML and its Clarity enterprise software to provide retailers with a view of where goods are in a specific zone or space.
The latest product offers a new industry benchmark for location accuracy for tracked goods, said Sithamparanathan. The company’s TrackMaster technology is deployed by retailers around the world for hands-free, real-time inventory management of RFID tagged goods.
CenTrak Launches RTLS Scalable Platform
Real-time location system (RTLS) technology company CenTrak is offering its first scalable Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) Multi-Mode Platform for use in the healthcare market. The new solution is designed to meet the diverse needs of hospitals and other healthcare organizations by offering location data capabilities at a relatively low cost of deployment.
The company released ConnectRT, a unified cloud-based software platform, in March. Now the company is extending its suite of offerings to address health care industry challenges with hybrid architecture that transitions between BLE and all CenTrak Clinical-Grade Locating (CGL) environments.
This interoperability allows hospitals to leverage mixed RTLS infrastructure within a single building or across an entire hospital campus to optimally balance affordability and precision according to department need.
By utilizing existing BLE-enabled hospital networks and infrastructure, this integration technology will accelerate the adoption of location-based services such as staff duress and asset tracking, company officials reported.
Trax and PTC Offer Aviation Maintenance Solution
Trax and PTC have announced they will partner to integrate Trax's software platforms and PTC's Servigistics to develop joint solutions. The companies intend to boost efficiency, redefine service supply chain optimization, and maximize operational effectiveness across airline and MRO maintenance activities.
Trax, a global provider of paperless aviation maintenance and engineering software products, provides RFID-based solutions for logistics as well as digital signatures, paperless working and biometric security with offline capability for its suite of mobile and web-based applications.
The collaboration between Trax, and PTC’s Servigistics, a service parts optimization solution, will help meet the complex challenges of the aviation industry service supply chain, according to officials from both companies. By integrating the platforms—airlines and maintenance, repair and operations providers (MROs)—users can more rapidly and efficiently optimize their supply chains to ensure they have the right part, when and where they need it.
