The RPICA sets the standardized baseline of knowledge in the RFID industry. The individuals who pass the RPICA examination are prepared to demonstrate that they have the level of proficiency needed to understand the business case for a specific RFID application and to choose the appropriate technology for a specific application. This certification is appropriate for RFID implementers, business professionals that want to demonstrate an understanding of RFID technology and new college graduates and those entering the RFID industry. You can take the exam at no cost if you sign up for RFID Professional Institute Certification Training, or purchase the exam for $150. You will be asked to choose one of two testing time slots.

Choosing the proper radio frequency identification system for your application can be a challenge, so the editors of RFID Journal developed this guide, which explains the characteristics of different types of RFID and the strengths and weaknesses of each, as well as their suitability for a wide variety of applications across many industries.
This report covers all of the many types of RFID technologies, including passive low-frequency (LF), high-frequency (HF) and ultrahigh-frequency (UHF) 433 MHz, 900 MHz and 2.4 GHz active systems; ultra-wideband (UWB); ZigBee; Wi-fi; and more. Plus, it features descriptions covering a wide variety of hybrid tags, including tags that combine RFID with infrared, GPS and sensors.
