I have not seen any data on market share for the leading suppliers of retail RFID solutions. The list of companies below is neither complete nor definitive, but all of them offer state-of-the-art products and solutions.

Avery Dennison Smartrac: The leading provider of RFID (passive UHF and NFC) and smart labels, Avery also offers serialization software and services.

Checkpoint Systems: Checkpoint supplies RFID labels and software, as well as integration services.

SML Group: A provider of labels and serialization services, SML also offers Clarity software for managing stores and supply chains.

Tyco Sensormatic: Tyco provides readers, software and integration services.

Zebra Technologies: Best known for its RFID label printers, Zebra offers an extensive portfolio of handheld, fixed and overhead RFID readers.

There are, of course, many other companies whose tags, readers and software are used in retail deployments. Many employ a mix of products from different businesses, depending on their needs. A good systems integrator can help you choose the right hardware and software.
