Avery Dennison Presents Label Converter Workshop at Virtually LIVE! 2020

By RFID Journal

The workshop was a widely attended component of RFID Journal's online conference, held this week.

The inaugural  RFID Journal Virtually LIVE! event, an immersive online conference and exhibition held this week, was attended by more than 1,600 people from around the world. The event's Signature and Platinum Sponsor was  Avery Dennison, a leading company in the development and manufacture of RFID labels and inlays. Virtually LIVE! was created to replace RFID Journal's annual in-person LIVE! event, canceled this year due to the global COVID-19 pandemic.

During the online conference, RFID Journal presented two days of speakers in multiple industries sharing case studies on how they are benefiting from radio frequency identification (RFID). The virtual event also featured solution providers showcasing the latest advances in RFID and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies. The event, which will remain online through Oct. 30, featured six concurrent tracks of industry-specific educational sessions, as well as ongoing discussion boards. The platform offers online exhibits featuring white papers, demos and on-demand content.

During Virtually LIVE!, Jeremy Schenof, Avery Dennison Intelligent Labels' VP of strategy and new business development, presented a keynote session on how COVID-19 could be a positive catalyst for change. Kris Barton, the company's director of market development, spoke during the retail track about how to get digital transformation right. Avery Dennison also hosted a workshop for RFID label converters looking to add RFID to their product mix.

"Avery Dennison has been a leader in the RFID industry for many years, and the company helped make our first virtual conference and exhibition a success," said Mark Roberti, RFID Journal's founder and editor. "I've received emails from several attendees who said the content in these sessions was excellent."

"The world's largest RFID industry event emphasized, more than ever, the importance of RFID and digital ID technologies as an innovation driver and key enabler of new business opportunities and touchless tech," Jeremy Schenof said. "One of my key takeaways: COVID-19, or the 'new normal,' hasn't slowed the move toward digital transformation—it has accelerated it across multiple industries, and that's good news for businesses and consumers alike."

The sessions from Virtually LIVE! have been recorded and the booths remain accessible, though they are not manned. Those looking to learn how RFID and IoT technologies can improve the way they do business can register at  www.rfidvirtual.com, then view the recordings on demand and visit the booths to download product specifications, brochures, white papers and other materials.
