RFID Journal Event Speaker Receives Entrepreneurial Award

By Rich Handley

Sabesan Sithamparanathan, PervasID's founder and CEO, has been named among Business Elite's "40 Under 40."

Each year at our annual RFID Journal LIVE! conference and RFID Journal Awards ceremony, we assemble the brightest minds in the RFID world—the movers and shakers bringing positive changes that benefit the entire industry. Among them is Dr. Sabesan Sithamparanathan, PervasID's founder and CEO, who has spoken at several of our events in recent years, including at last week's conference in Orlando, Fla. So I was pleased to learn that Sabesan has been named one of Business Elite's "40 Under 40."

Rich HandleyThis award program identifies outstanding young executives and entrepreneurs from around the world—up-and-comers, aspiring business leaders and industry disruptors with, as Business Elite puts it, "the undoubted attitude, quality, potential, desire, determination and ambition to shape the world of business over the coming decades." The program is aimed at honoring visionaries and innovators who have changed the way things are done, and Sabesan certainly fits the bill, from his research as a Ph.D. student at the University of Cambridge to his work in creating new RFID tracking technologies.

Sabesan has been recognized internationally and has been instrumental in the acquisition of multiple patents. What's more, he has grown PervasID into a global enterprise that provides solutions to the healthcare, industrial, security, retail, supply chain and logistics sectors. Sabesan has contributed articles to RFID Journal (see The New Normal… For Now and Helping an FOD Solution Discover the Fountain of Youth), and he's shown himself to be a personable guy with important information to share. There's a reason our editorial director of events, Debbie Hughes, keeps inviting him back as an event speaker.

The honorees on this year's "40 Under 40" list will receive awards at an exclusive gala dinner that will be held on June 15, 2023, at the Ciragan Palace Kempinski Istanbul. Business Elite's awards advisory board is composed of respected and experienced individuals who own and/or run multimillion-dollar companies. These are the leaders in their industries, professions and communities, reflecting diversity and excellence in global business, so it's no small thing to be among the award recipients.

My sincere congratulations to Sabesan Sithamparanathan for his prestigious and well-deserved honor. Recently, Sabesan was also elected as a fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), which comprises more than 168,000 members from 150 countries. I have a feeling this is just the beginning of great things to come.
