Real-World RFID Experiences at Johnson & Johnson
Johnson & Johnson was an early supporter of Electronic Product Code (EPC) standards. The company has been examining the use of EPC technology, both in its consumer products and its pharmaceutical supply chains. In this session, the firm discusses the lessons it has learned over the past five years, and what the RFID industry must do before RFID can deliver on the promise of enabling greater supply chain visibility and efficiency.
Mike Rose, VP, RFID/EPCglobal Value Chain, Johnson & Johnson

ASD Healthcare Benefits from Drug Consignment Monitoring
Ensuring that expensive pharmaceutical drugs are always in an acute care setting when needed is a time-consuming and labor-intensive task. ASD Healthcare, a division of AmerisourceBergan, has developed a 433 MHz active RFID system that not only tracks products from ASD¹s warehouse to the patient, but also monitors temperature, issues an invoice when drugs are consumed and automatically triggers replenishment. Learn how this system is benefiting ASD, hospitals and patients.

The Potential of Incorporating RFID in Medical Devices
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s Center for Devices and Radiological Health (CDRH) is working to ensure that medical device advancements promoting individual patient care and public health are safe and effective. Given the rapid pace of growth estimated for RFID use in health-care settings, hear how partnership of the CDRH with health-care organizations, other regulatory bodies and product manufacturers will bring the benefit of RFID-enabled medical devices to patients, while also considering the potential risks associated with electromagnetic interference.

RFID in Anti-Counterfeiting: From Security to ROI
RFID offers an efficient tool in fighting the ever-increasing problem of product counterfeiting and illicit trade, but it’s not a silver-bullet solution. Security is important in anti-counterfeiting, but it’s not without a price. Our presenter has developed and identified cost-efficient and usable techniques for secure authentication of today's standard RFID tags. Learn from the lessons of two EU-funded projects showing how minimal extensions to EPC/RFID supply chain infrastructures can inflict major obstacles to counterfeiting, and how the ROI of anti-counterfeiting investments can be enumerated.
