Simon Langford began his Wal-Mart career in 1994 as a store manager for its U.K.-based Asda chain. He held several positions with Asda before moving to the United States as a strategy manager with Wal-Mart's home office. In 2001, he formed and led the company's EPC strategy team. Mr. Langford is currently responsible for leveraging EPC technologies to deliver a positive ROI, collaborating with suppliers to improve implementation strategies, working to develop global standards to facilitate the potential of RFID and partnering with technology providers to create innovative solutions. In 2005, he received Wal-Mart's highest award, the Sam M. Walton Award for Excellence in Leadership.
