Identiv | Booth 945:

> Identiv's uTrust Sense Temperature Tracker Secures the Internet of Things

The demonstration highlights Identiv's NFC capabilities through its newly launched product, the uTrust Sense Temperature Tracker. A smart sensor for the Internet of Things (IoT) market, the tag empowers businesses in a broad range of market segments by providing low-cost temperature monitoring for all types of sensitive and perishable items.

Identiv's uTrust Sense Temperature Tracker can be included in shipments to ensure that perishable items are kept within specified limits from factory to customer — its small size allowing the tagging of individual items. The tag can be used for more accurate shelf-life management for items in which the useful life is affected by temperature. Additionally, the tag can be used for more detailed process monitoring, with each item or batch tracked, and industrial equipment can be tagged to allow monitoring and failure analysis. The possible use cases are endless.

As an IoT sensor, the uTrust Sense Temperature Tracker can communicate with a variety of local gateway devices. When used in shipping, the tag can be read from factory to warehouse to the customer premises, using an app on a mobile device or industrial equipment. The current status and complete logged history can be reviewed locally or uploaded to the cloud. End customers can use their mobile device to review the temperature history and accept the shipment. The shipper can use the cloud data to measure performance and the manufacturer can use the same data to compare different shipping services.

Attendees will witness how the Identiv-designed and manufactured uTrust Sense Temperature Tracker functions in the marketplace. The demonstration will feature a mobile app by Identiv. The app reads the temperature log from any Android phone.

> AdvanFitting-M: Smart fitting room using RFID and an interactive mirror-screen

Mirror, Mirror on the wall...which dress is the fairest of them all?

Today, you can ask this question to our new AdvanFitting-M, an interactive mirror that acts as your personal stylist inside the fitting room.

AdvanFitting-M is an interactive product recommendation and cross-selling system for fitting rooms at retail stores. AdvanFitting-M uses RFID technology and a touch screen embedded in the mirror to improve the customer shopping experience and increase the sales of the retailer. AdvanFitting-M automatically detects the garments taken by customers into the fitting room and shows images or videos of the garments on the mirror-screen. While seeing their own reflection on the mirror, customers see matching products, recommendations, product descriptions and available sizes and colours. By touching the mirror-screen, customers can request another size or color without leaving the fitting room, and store staff takes them to the customer. As a result, AdvanFitting-M increases the conversion rates at fitting rooms, and increases the sales of the retailer. It also provides key data for business intelligence purposes.

Come to our booth and try "the new shopping experience".

> The contactless measurement and visualization of physical values

With one eye on current measured values

Where temperature, pressure or humidity is analog measured with a thermometer, barometer or hygrometer, the use of innovative RFID technology offers new advantages. The potential uses of TELID® sensor transponders are varied and each application is subject to their own requirements. The small, robust lenses with a diameter of 14 millimeters offer the combination of a passive RFID tag and a low power sensor module. With the help of an RFID read-write device the corresponding physical value can be contactless determined and stored in the internal memory of the transponder if needed. The user gets not only an objective measurement value but also can clearly identify the object to be judged simultaneously.

Contactless measurement and visualization of physical quantities by pushing of a button in the blink of an eye.

Together with the RFID read/write interface iID®POCKETwork and RFID sensor transponders of the TELID® product line the contactless measurement and visualization of physical values such as temperature, humidity, pressure or inclination is done in no time.

For example, the TELID®231 with its integrated sensor in addition to the standard features of an RFID tag allows the measurement of temperature and humidity. The power supply for identifying and measuring is provided by the RF field of the POCKETwork. While holding the scan button of the POCKETwork on the OLED display of this RFID reader, the temperature in degrees Celsius and the relative humidity in percent is displayed. The measured values and unique sensor transponder number can be transmitted to an HOST via Bluetooth or USB either get stored with a time stamp in the memory of the sensor transponder itself and/or in the internal memory of the POCKETwork.

Because the sensor transponders remain on the measurement object, they simultaneously provide a unique identification of the measuring point. In addition to storing identification data, the implemented memory allows calibration values and other information about the measuring point to be saved. The transponders can also be used in harsh environments. ISO-defined standard interfaces allow low-cost evaluation technology. The tiny sensor systems communicate mainly with standard RF readers and customary mobile data systems such as industrial handhelds, smart phones or laptops. In particular, due to the low power consumption and optimum data rate, the RF-technology based on the ISO 14443 standard is proving to be the most appropriate.

In many industrial applications, wired measurement is costly or subject to special approvals and therefore extremely expensive. With the use of RFID technology, wireless measurement of physical values is possible with the simplest, mobile implementation. Incidental application costs are reduced and measurement processes much easier.
