Scaling RAIN RFID Tagging with Existing Equipment
The source tagging of products with RAIN RFID at the point of manufacture – traditionally via inlays - benefits everyone in the supply chain. While this approach is still dominant and cost efficient, manufacturers need to find new ways to embed and encode RAIN RFID tags efficiently at massive volumes if they wish to maximize the benefits. It is predicted that in 2019, over 20 billion items will have been identified and connected to the Internet of Things via RAIN RFID chips. However, even in the early adopter market of fashion retail, the penetration rate of RAIN is still less than 10%. A huge business growth opportunity exists as adoption continues, but it presents a significant manufacturing scalability challenge. In this webinar, industry experts discuss existing challenges around tagging processes, as well as ways to increase the productivity of smart label encoding and attachment. RAIN RFID capabilities can often be retrofitted into existing production machines in label, package or various other industrial manufacturing processes. This can eliminate the need for investing in new machines, saving you time and money! As a webinar attendee, you will discover how you can merge various tagging process steps via a single machine, without having to resort to intensive PLC programming. Maximize the value of existing equipment and improve your production processes, enabling you to easily scale up as the industry heads towards 100 Billion annual RAIN-enabled items and beyond!
RFID Technology: New Revenue Opportunities for Industry Suppliers and Their Customers
Many retailers are turning to radio frequency identification technology (RFID) to improve in-store inventory accuracy and enable buy online, pickup in store, ship from store and other unified commerce strategies. As RFID adoption increases store designers will need to incorporate the technology into the store’s infrastructure. Fixture manufacturers, mannequin companies and may also need to incorporate RFID into their products. This creates new revenue opportunities. In this webinar, learn how RFID is being used in retail and what impact it might have on store design and fixture providers.
